Final Minutes Of Super Bowl XXXIX
I actually watched the whole game over again today. I can’t believe how slow the offense was moving in the final 5 minutes. I get sick every time I see them huddle up. Even the annoying announcers were screaming HURRY UP!
I also think Andy Reid botched two special teams plays after the Lewis touchdown. The decision to go for the onside kick, and to not have anybody back on the punt return, allowed New England to pin the Eagles deep at their own 4 with 46 seconds left.
If Reid kicks it deep, and then plays for the return, who knows where that drive would have started at. Maybe the 40 yard line even. That would have given the offense a fair shot to get within field goal range for David Akers to tie the game.
Oh well the game is over, nothing can be done about it now.
