Vick To Spend 23 Months in Prison

National Football League superstar Michael Vick was sentenced to 23 months in prison here on Monday for his role in a dogfighting ring.US District Judge Henry Hudson imposed the sentence, which was harsher than the 12-18 months recommended by prosecutors under the agreement they reached when Vick pleaded guilty to conspiracy to operate a dogfighting enterprise across state lines. The federal charge had carried a maximum of five years.Vick, 27, surrendered to authorities on November 19 and was already in jail. The one-time darling of NFL fans and sports marketers has been indefinitely suspended by the NFL.

Wearing a black and white prison jumpsuit, Vick showed little emotion as Hudson pronounced the sentence, which also includes three years’ probation.

Vick is a piece of garbage, and I am glad that some justice is being served here. Usually NFL stars just get away with murder(literally), but not in this case. The Feds made a huge example out of Michael Vick, and hopefully this will deter other people from fighting dogs.

Hopefully he will get more time from the state charges he now faces. He deserves everything he is getting.

Forget about him ever playing in the NFL either. His career is 100% over. No team will want a dog abusing, inaccurate quarterback running back who just spent the past 2-3 years in the joint.

Good Riddance Michael Vick. The NFL does not need scum like you.
