The Pittsburgh Steelers signed former University of Colorado standout Jeremy Bloom to the practice squad Monday. Bloom will be with the Steelers this week in preparation for their playoff game against visiting Jacksonville on Saturday night. Bloom likely will stay with the Steelers into next season. Bloom was cut by Philadelphia in September. He had a tryout with the Broncos in October.

A big toe injury slowed Bloom in the pre-season, and lead to him being cut. The Eagles went into the season with no return specialist, and lost to Green Bay opening day due to two muffed punts. If the Eagles had not cut Bloom, those punts get caught, the Iggles win, and probably make the playoffs.
Knowing the Birds luck, Bloom will score a touch down in the playoffs, and become the Steelers permanent punt returner.
