Eagles Sign 5, Cut Ian Scott

On Wednesday, the Eagles re-signed Gasperson and four other practice squad players – defensive tackle Jeremy Clark, cornerback Therrian Fontenot, wide receiver Bill Sampy and fullback Jason Davis. In addition, the Eagles released defensive tackle Ian Scott from the injured reserve list.

Nothing too exciting here. The Iggles just filled up the practice squad for the off season. Will any of these players ever make an impact on the team? Probably not, but you never know. Jamaal Jackson was a long time practice squad player who is now the teams starting Center. I guess anything is possible in the NFL.

Ian Scott turned out to be damaged goods. I thought he could be a good rotational guy at DT, but he was unable to play. Starters Mike Patterson, and Brodrick Bunkley both had an excellent season. The future looks bright for the young defensive tackle duo, but the Birds need to address the depth behind them. Lajaun Ramsey is the only other DT that I think deserves to make the team next year. Montae Reagor and Kimo von Oelhoffen should also be replaced as well.
