Eagles Re-Sign J.R. Reed, Offer Joselio Hanson Tender

The Eagles have officially kicked off free agency by bringing back hard hitting Safety, and kick returner J.R. Reed. It is reported to be a 1 year deal, and there should probably be a press conference today.

They then offered a one year tender to restricted free agent Joselio Hanson, worth $1.47 million for one year. That tender holds a 2nd round value, so if any other team were to sign Hanson to a contract, they would have to give up a 2nd round draft pick as compensation.

These two moves were pretty much expected, and will just be the very beginning of what the Eagles plan to do. Rumors are swirling that Asante Samuel is on his way to Philadelphia, and that a deal could have possibly already been reached.

Another crazy rumor from our sister site Arrowhead Addict, says the Eagles might be trading Lito Sheppard for Jared Allen. If the Bird’s could manage to get Samuel, and Jared Allen, I think I would freak out. That would be an amazing free agency.
