Jump On The James Hardy Bandwagon

It’s no secret that the Eagles are looking for a receiver. They tried to sign Randy Moss, but were unable to pry him away from New England. According to rumors they also tried to trade for big time play maker Larry Fitzgerald, but also were unsuccessful. With no free agents available, the Birds are will have to turn to the draft. This draft has a lot of question marks at the receiver position, but to me one guy stands out above the rest.

His name is James Hardy. He is a 6′6″ 220 lb touchdown machine from Indiana. In three years at IU Hardy has 2,740 receiving yards, and 36 TDs. He is exactly what this Iggles offense needs. Hardy is a big physical wide out who can get in the end zone, and has enough speed and athletic ability to beat single coverage. He would be a great addition to the team, and would solve all of the red zone issues.

Drafting Hardy at 19 would probably be a reach. They could trade down like they did last year, gain a few extra picks, and then select Hardy. I would be thrilled if that happened(probably wont though). I don’t think it would even be so terrible to grab him at 19. NFL teams miss so often on draft picks, that you should reach a little to take a guy you really like. All that really matters in the end, is if the pick works out.

Here is a short YouTube video displaying some of Hardy’s talents.

Stuart thanks for the comment. I really wanted the Eagles to get James Hardy, but the Bills managed to suck more than the Eagles did last year and had a better draft pick.

I am happy that they managed to get DeSean Jackson. DeSean was a potential first round draft pick, and slipped even later in the draft than James Hardy. I heard he has been very impressive in only a few days of training camp.

Hardy will be good for the Bills though. He is especially great at scoring in the red zone. The real question is will Trent Edwards be able get him the ball.
