Eagles Sign Kris Wilson

The Eagles continued to be busy this off season by signing Kris Wilson for 3 years. Wilson played FB, H-Back, and TE for the Chiefs, but will probably play mostly tight end for the Birds. The 26 year old Pennsylvania native is excited to be a part of the Eagles, and hopes he can contribute right away.
You can catch Kris Wilson’s press conference right here.

March 26th, 2008 at 2:07 pmWhy Sign another TE? after making LJ the franchise TE and with Brent Celek being a younger player to develop and Schobel as the experienced 3rd string. Where will this player fit in unless they plan to remove one of the other 2? 4 TE’s is a little heavy for the position

March 26th, 2008 at 7:07 pmMaybe they are thinking of lifting the tag off of LJ Smith? Maybe they are going to trade Schobel on draft day? This does make it crowded at TE.

March 28th, 2008 at 11:06 amOnce L.J. went down last year the tight end position did absolutely nothing. I think Celek will be a good TE in the league (not pro bowl caliber), but Schobel really has done little as an eagles, I believe he drops more big passes then comes down with. It was evident last year that having a strong 3rd tight end is vital if injury does occur. Andy is FINALLY learning from his mistakes.
