Chris Johnson is FAST!!!

Speed kills, and RB Chris Johnson from Eastern Carolina is lightning fast. Johnson ran a 4.24 40, and watching his highlights he runs a lot like Brian Westbrook. Johnson is a big time kick returner as well, and I hope the Birds take a chance on him in the 2nd round of the draft. Correll Buckhalter is in his final year as an Iggle, and I would not feel comfortable with Tony Hunt being the only backup.

Here is a nice highlight video of Johnson.

I think they should take him in the 1st round.  The guy is a difference maker.  Very underrated due to small school bias.  Watched some films of this guy on youtube and I thought I was watching a scene out of Forest Gump.  The other players look like they’re moving in slow motion.  Johnson in round 1 and Jordy Nelson in round 2 (another underrated comodity).  Oh Lord, please hear my prayers….

Oops, forgot to add that Johnson is strong as well as fast.  He’s a weightlifter and can bench 315 lbs.  Both guys are excellent kick returners.

Yep, I actually did a small profile on him a while back on my site too.  He’s exceptionally quick and could immediately help on special teams.I have some concern about well he’ll be able to take hits in the NFL though.  Even in that video you can see him absorbing some big blows — evidence that he needs to learn to lessen the impact he takes when he makes contact.  A small guy like that won’t last if linebackers and safeties are hammering him with all of their weight each time he runs. He’s definitely someone to keep an eye on.

Gossamer – Forrest Gump LOL Thanks for stopping by the site. I really like Johnson. I hope the Birds draft him. Nelson is a nice looking prospect too. I would not mind them getting him as well.

BFH - I agree he needs to work on a few things, and not taking the big hit is pretty important. Westbrook is one of the best in the NFL of avoiding those bone crushing hits, and maybe he could teach that to Chris Johnson.

He is really quick, and by his forty yd dash looks even more so than deion sanders himself, but he is not a strong runner, fast but not really good balance, if he learns to put his cleats on the ground more, really step into it, he has the potential to be great
