LJ Smith Getting A New Deal?

L.J. Smith (philadelphiaeagles.com)Bob Grotz of the Delco Times says there is a good chance he will. In his recent column he hints that a long term deal with Little John Smith could be imminent. Grotz thinks that the franchise tag placed upon Smith could be parameters for a new contract.

I would be shocked if that happened. Apparently they have been working on an extension for years with Smith, but LJ was dissatisfied with the figures. The report was that the Eagles and Smith were extremely far apart, and contract talks had completely died.

The other surprise about this story, is the abundance of tight ends already on the roster. With the recent addition of Kris Wilson the Birds now have 4 TEs on the team. I can’t remember the last time the Eagles carried 4 TEs into the season. Don’t be surprised if Matt Schobel gets traded during the draft.

I will believe there is a deal in place for LJ Smith when I see one. Until then it looks to me like this will be his final year in Philadelphia.

I usually don't commonly post on many another Blogs, still I just has to say thank you... keep up the amazing work. Ok regrettably its time to get to school.

samaiya - While he did kill us on third down in the second game this year, believe me... we definitely don't need or want mr. smith on our team. I'll take John or Brian though! ; )

i think lj should not trade because he is better of in philly. if he does trade i hope he dosen't sign with the giants
