Draft Spotlight: Branden Albert

Posted by: Zach

As the draft approaches teams are starting to configure their final draft boards, and target certain players in the draft. I have heard from a few sources that Branden Albert is one of the Bird’s favorite prospects.

Andy Reid loves to draft lineman in the first round, and it is widely known that the team has visited Albert to personally check him out. I that Albert and Chris Williams of Vanderbilt have to be the two top rated players for the Eagles realistically if they stay at 19.

Albert is widely considered the top offensive guard in the draft, and many feel he is athletic enough to play LT in the NFL. The Virginia guard has great size at 6″7″ 315 lbs, and can move very well for his size. I believe that if Albert is available with the 19th pick he would be the Eagles selection. I do think he would need a solid year in the Eagles weight room to get stronger, but he could be the teams franchise LT that would replace Tra Thomas.

Here is a video made about Albert that aired on NFL Network.
