Eagles Take Mike McGlynn With The 109th Pick

The Eagles passed on Jeff Otah with their 19th pick, and let the Carolina Panthers trade back up into the first round and take him. Then with the extra 4th round pick the Birds got from Carolina, they chose the other Pittsburgh OT Mike McGlynn.

McGlynn is a versatile guy who played RT for Pitt for 3 seasons, and played RG in his senior year. He moves very well, and could possibly play LT in the NFL. I actually think there is a chance that the Eagles could try McGlynn out at center.

Jamaal Jackson played poorly 2007, and Nick Cole is not exactly a guy to really push him on the roster. I think they had to look for a guy like McGlynn who has some versatility to play almost any position on the line. It will be interesting to see where they play him in training camp.

I like this pick a lot, and I see him being a starter down the line. I think this also makes the the trade with the Panthers seem like an even bigger robbery.
