Eagles Sign WR Adarius Bowman

UPDATE: Bowman Signing May Be Premature>>

This is off the KFFL wire:

Eagles | Team signs Bowman
Wed, 30 Apr 2008 14:09:59 -0700

Josh Buchanan, of NFLDraftBible.com, reports the Philadelphia Eagles signed undrafted rookie free-agent WR Adarius Bowman (Oklahoma State) Wednesday, April 30. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Adarius Bowman was considered a possible 3rd round pick just a few months ago, but things have gone bad for him since then. At the combine he ran an awful 40 time, and just weeks before the draft Bowman was arrested for possession of marijuana. He went from a good looking WR prospect to being thrown off of every NFL draft board.

Bowman draws comparisons to Terrell Owens for his size, physical play, and run after the catch ability. It is usually a very tough task to make an NFL team as an undrafted rookie, but it does happen. You can bet that Greg Lewis, Hank Baskett, and Jason Avant do not like this signing.

I hope this news spreads fast, so all of the idiots on WIP(hosts and callers) can stop complaining about not getting a big WR. I hope 6’4″ 200 pounds is big enough. Knowing WIP, they will just complain that he is a “trouble maker”.

Here are some highlights of Adarius Bowman.

We hope the very best for Adarius! He gave OSU fans some great memories!

One thing I didn’t see mentioned in this is his ability to block.  He was considered one of the best blocking recievers in the Big 12.   He is one hell of an athlete and was on the basketball team for awhile.  I don’t think he will be that much of a trouble maker… everyone knows the marijuana laws in this country are a joke.  Congrats on picking up a great reciever!

    Actually, he’s 220 lbs, not 200…which makes a better comparison, size-wise.

If Andy Reid and co. can get this kid to focus on football this is a great pick. We had him as a round one grade at Draft 32 until a disapointiong senior bowl and ultimately a marijuanna related arrest. Great talent and potential if he stays clean.

PFT says this didn’t happen and claims sources say it won’t happen.Too bad.

He has two back-to-back 1,000 yard receiving seasons in arguably the toughest division in college football.  He seemed to get depressed over his time at the combine and decided to try some weed. From a longtime OSU season ticket holder, I did not find him to EVER be an attitude problem.  2 or 3 of the QBs at the over/under game said he was the toughest dude there.  I live less than 5 miles from Wes Welker’s home (Oklahoma City) and nobody wanted him either.  Nice pickup, I just wish he was a Dallas Cowboy.

Thanks for that info mike. It looks like this may not have happened afterall.

Thank you OSU fans for stopping by. I see you are all big Bowman fans.

Bowman was wonderful at OSU – on field and off.

Hopefully, someday, the NFL will realize it too.

You guys are really lucky to get bowman as an undrafted free agent. Believe me he is worth more than that. Lets see how eagles gonna make use of him. I hope that he’ll become a great NFL player. We cowboys(OSU) gonna miss him pretty bad.

It’s unbelievable how one minute you’re the man and a second later you’re a trouble maker. DAMN!!! Give the kid a chance, good job eagles. It was big mistake not leaving him on in the draft. I guess we’re all angels…LOL Ball out of control BOWMAN, but be smart with your money.
