McNabb Is Fine

Andy Reid spoke about the shoulder injury to Donovan McNabb, and he made it pretty clear that McNabb’s injury is no big deal. Here is what he had to say:

Slight shoulder tendinitis. That is nothing major, and for most players is not even news worthy. For Donovan the lightning rod of criticism, this injury becomes a head line on Sports Center. “McNabb Hurt Again” was what scrolled across the screen, and it was portrayed as being something serious. Then after they show the clip of Andy Reid(above), they go on to show every injury McNabb has had during his career.

This is very typical of ESPN. They like to make misleading headlines, and then harp on the negative that has happened to McNabb in the past regarding his health. It must be a slow news time, because I have never seen a story about tendinitis being so big ever.

The fact is Donovan McNabb has a very minor injury, and he will be fine come training camp. The best thing for him now is rest, and there is no surgery involved. He will get some treatment to his shoulder and be fine. There really is nothing else to say on the matter.

I have heard a lot of Eagles fans worried about this injury, and even questioning if McNabb is hurt worse than thought. I am telling you now do not worry. 5ive is just being shut down because Andy is being ‘super cautious’ with it, and he will be back in no time. This is a nothing injury that you should not be concerned about.

When one of McNabb’s body parts breaks, tears, or sprains then you should worry. Right now all is well in Eagle land.

It shouldn’t be a big deal, if anybody know’s how to rehab an injury, it’s donovan.

  • Redskins Guy

Yeah, you’re right.  I’m sure he’ll have plenty of other chances to get injured throughout the season.

Simply hilarious. No big deal. Just some horrible pain in his throwing shoulder. Awww shucks, he’ll be OK.

I have to say, I love how Ian wrote “WHEN one of McNabb’s body parts breaks, tears, or sprains then you should worry.”
It’s no longer “if.” It’s “when.”  Just a matter of time.  Is this a sign that Ian is coming back to reality? I doubt it, but it’s a nice first baby step. Hooray for Ian!

my question would be; what happens to a baseball pitcher when he develops tendenitus in his throwing shoulder? it ain’t no little thing. he’ll have to have it iced, or hot, before every game. and it will limit his practice time. thus throwing off his chemistry with his wideouts? this could be huge???

  • Ian

Dave – McNabb had the exact same injury in 2004. He will not have to ice it before every game, because by the time September rolls around the tendinitis will be gone. Luckily this is the off season, and McNabb can rest the shoulder, and get treatment for it.

well, good luck to him, mcnabb is a hell of a warrior. i respect him. he gives it all everytime he goes out there, and he represents you eagles well. 3 chapionship games in a row. we cowboy fans are takin some shit right now about danny white being a loser and not winnig the big one. his career is similar to mcnabb’s. it seems the qb always takes the hit for a loss, but it ain’t always so. hope his health fairs well, he’s a classy player. i’m a cowboy fan and admire owens’ talent, but it was unfortunate that he and mcnabb ended up the way it did. owens did over step the boundries in that episode.

Actually 4 Championship games in a row. They finally won the 4th time.

yes my mistake, i had danny white on my mind with his 3 in a row. that acctullay rivals kelly and the bills with the bowl appearences. hey, everyone forgets the loser of a championship, but we know what it takes to get there, right man??? hats off to you guys cause we fight in the trenches hard with you guys. there ain’t ever goin to be a gimme game. no matter what the records, our matchup is a dog fight to the end. sorry about that to all the dog lovers out there. i got 3 of them, and love em big. just a observation of a battle of epic preportions whenever philly/dallas goes on. it’s true to the NFL. it’s badass always, the way we like it.
