Westbrook And Lito Show Up, But No Big Kid
All of the media was waiting at Lehigh University to see if Brian Westbrook and Lito Sheppard(both want new contracts) would show up to training camp. Many have speculated that there could have been a hold out with one of these guys, but both players showed up and were on time.
Surprisingly, the one player who did not show up was Pro Bowl Right Guard Shawn Andrews. Andrews contacted the Eagles to let them know he would be missing the start of training camp due to “personal reasons”. It was reported on PFT that this was due to a contract dispute, but Andrews agent has denied that.
610 WIP Radio host Howard Eskin claims the Eagles are not happy that Andrews is absent. Eskin said that the Eagles think the Big Kid’s ”personal reasons” are not important enough to keep him out of camp, and the Eagles should fine him for every day he misses.
The list of players unhappy with their contracts continues to grow bigger. This is becoming ridiculous.
Let’s hope Howard is wrong on this one. An ugly hold out usually never ends in a good way.

if u want we’ll let u borrow jerry jones for a week so he can sign your disgruntled players LOL

I really hope not!

July 27th, 2008 at 8:40 amGreg – I would be shocked if the Eagles traded Shawn Andrews. They traded up in the first round to get him, and he is one of the best offensive lineman in the NFL.
I can barely read PFT anymore, because so much of it is just pure garbage.
July 27th, 2008 at 12:30 pmhe’s one of the best according to who. lets see some book facts here. not biased opinion, but just the facts mam. i’m thinking some of this info might be pure garbage
July 27th, 2008 at 3:14 pmDave – It is pretty common knowledge that he is one of the best. Many feel he is the best right guard in the NFL. New Era Scouting(http://insidetheiggles.com/2008/06/30/the-big-kid-ranked-the-5th-best-guard-in-the-nfl/) ranked him as the 5th best guard in the NFL, and the 4 guards ahead of him on the list all play left guard.
Andrews blows defenders away in run blocking, and is like the great wall of china in pass protection. While Brian Westbrook may be the Eagles most valuable player, Andrews may be the teams best player.
Andrews is often compared to a player you knew very well. Larry Allen.
