The play calling did seem extremely vanilla, and they really did not show too much. One thing I did notice was they kept faking the end around to DeSean Jackson. Maybe in the real game, they actually give it to him? Good comparison with Welker too. He has that low center of gravity which gives him great agility. ]]> By: Stev http://insidetheiggles.com/2008/08/10/some-thoughts-on-the-stillers-game/comment-page-1/#comment-1176 Stev Tue, 12 Aug 2008 19:45:21 +0000 http://insidetheiggles.com/?p=756#comment-1176 Consider that the Eagles and the Steelers play each other regular season, and then it's easy to understand that JJ isn't going to come after the Steelers with anything exotic so as not to give the Steelers any film for them to use in prep for the Birds during the regular season.  I too was troubled by Dawk getting burned on that TD, but the man is only human and he just over-pursued before the catch; I promise you he wants that back and he won't look like that during the regular season.  The Birds traditionally don't show too much and generally aren't very flashy in the preseason, so I expected to see what I saw, although D-Jax looks like a baller already, special teams notwithstanding.  If he just puts his head in the playbook, he could be a turbo-charged Wes Welker, and combined with #36, Booker, Curtis and sometimes Brown (he's good when he wants to be...I hope he reads this), then the O has a shot to be great.
