Phil - I respectably disagree.

While Hunt did get better with more carries at Penn State, he was thriving on college level talent. Some prospects translate well to the pros, and some don't. I think Hunt is a guy who maxes out his ability in college.

One thing I noticed about Hunt, is he is pretty soft for a big back. Many times he got the ball in space, and instead of running through a defender, he acts scared and tries to be something he is not.

When he was given a chance to play FB, you saw that he does not have the physicality to play the position, and really does not have that edge you would like from someone his size. Blocking takes a mean attitude, and Hunt seems to shy away from sticking his nose in there and taking contact.

I know Tony Hunt was tremendous in college, but I think he was never meant to play in the NFL.

At Penn State Hunt was always a game player and got better as he got more carries during a game. At Penn State he was never a burner, he ran over people and through tackles. So your expections of Hunt at draft time were already wrong. Westbrook is one of the best back in the NFL and Hunt wasn't going to succeed carrying the ball a few times a game. If he gets 20 carries a game he will be a solid running back for some NFL.
