Will He or Won’t He?

After missing his third straight day of practice it seems likely that Brian Westbrook will not play versus the Ravens. Head Coach Andy Reid said the following regarding Westbrook’s bum knee:

“He still has some swelling in there,” Reid said. “We want to get that out.”

According to the Daily News article backup Correll Buckhalter is making preparations to start if Westbrook can’t go. Buck, as always, is more than ready to get increased reps:

“I feel like I can help this team whenever I get the opportunity,” he said. “I think that allows Westbrook to be fresh, as well. So I am just looking forward to the opportunity and running with it.”

So it’s another wait and see for the Eagles’ star running back. Unfortunately, we are getting accustomed to Westbrook’s many maladies placing his playing status in limbo. If he does go, expect a lighter workload.

"class act", why does everybody keep repeating this sound byte? especially without reasons to say it in particular. Sorry, McNabb's behavior on the field, sidelines, in the media isnt more classy than anyone else's, if anything it is less. Quit regurgitating that annoying phrase.

First of all dave, I am enjoying the intelligent discussion. It's nice to go back and forth without resorting to cheap insults. And no my "cattle herder" comment wasn't an insult, just a hack joke. I was ashamed that McNabb was booed on Draft Day 1999. It still bothers me today because HE was the QB I wanted, not Culpepper or Couch. Donovan has been a warrior and he deserves better, but you don't have to live in Philly to know that this is a "what have you done lately" city. I don't condone it or agree with it, but that's the way it is. As for Marino and Kelly, they were fortunate to play in places that don't judge as harshly. Donovan's legacy is what it is. He will be remembered as one of, if not THE, greatest QB in Eagles history. The true fans know this. McNabb may never get a parade or a day named after him but he will be missed when he's gone. That much I can guarantee.

hey i'm a cowboy fan, not a cattle herding guy. i get the joke, very funny, really it was.....great.....i just will never for get the day that the eagles picked mcnabb. i was with a raider fan, and a fellow cowboy fan, and a good friend who is a eagle fan, and he said he was very embarrassed at that point to see his fellow fans react that way. and over the years i've seen mcnabb play like a real warrior and has gave it all for the eagles and just does'nt seem to get the alcolades because of the lack of championships. all i can say is remember one thing, dan marino never won one. and kelly went to 4 straight and could'nt get it done, and those 2 cities honor the memory of their qb's. my advise is really look at what you've been blessed to see in philly with mcnabb, and honor him as well. looking at it in comparison, he deserves it, not??????

For the record, I don't agree with benching McNabb, but I understand why Reid did it.

Despite what Angelo Cataldi now states, he was a major catalyst in the McNabb boo-fest.  I was always happy to have McNabb as the face of the franchise and am sorry to see him struggling now.

Personally, I wouldn't have benched him, but there is no doubt he is playing poorly.  I wonder if he has lost the confidence of his teammates, which would make the benching much more understandable.

As for Dallas, I refuse to make any predictions on them.  I wouldn't get too excited though, they always seem one pinched ego away from another explosion.  That and they have a crappy coach, imho.

You make a lot of bold predictions. We shall see how many of them actually come true. And you are wrong, my cattle herding friend, I won't be crying in anything. My tear ducts are dry from the last ten years. I don't fear change, I welcome it.

yeah i like my cowboys win, i just did'nt think it was nessesary to bring it here. and yes i love my question mark key when it pretains to the eagles. and yes mcnabb is a class act that was basically hated and booed when he was first drafted. and is despised for not winning the big one by most of the philly fans. you are right in most of your assumptions, except for the fact that when mcnabb leaves and becomes qb for the bears and instantly makes them a top contender for the super bowl, you'll be crying in your cereal bowl watching klob, your new qb, and excepting life in the nfl..... and don't fret, romo will get more then his first playoff win this year....tah tah

I find it strange that certain Cowboy fans revel in the Eagles' failings, rather than enjoy the success of their own team. Davedallasfan, who apparently loves his question mark key, is under the false impression that the majority of Eagles' fans dislike McNabb. It's simply not true. The fans didn't bench McNabb, Reid did. Dave is correct in calling Donovan a class act. However, this is the NFL, not manners school. Being a good guy isn't enough. It's all about wins and losses. Tony Romo seems like a nice guy too, but I'm sure you won't be pleased if he fails to win a playoff game again this year. The bottom line is Donovan had multiple chances to win a Super Bowl. He and the team didn't get it done. At some point you have to accept reality and move on. It's not classless, it's life in the NFL.

is it klob time in philly now????????? is mcnabb done????? will all you traitor eagle fans get your wish???? ncnabb will be gone next year. maybe andy( bigboy) ried will be too. and then klob will be there as your starter. good luck. could'nt have happened to a better team. all you guys that booed the eagles and mcnabb when he was drafted, now will you get your way?????? finally will mcnabb be gone????? hahahaha what a joke, mcnabb deserves better than what you guys give him. he's a class act, playing for a classless organization.
