Reid Speak

AUTHOR: | IN: Eagles | COMMENTS: No Comments |

Oh, how I love Andy Reid press conferences: The monotone delivery, the robotic stare, the textbook answers. What would we do without Big Red giving us fans or the evil media something tasty to chew on? Daily News writer Les Bowen wrote a great article yesterday about Reid’s stubborn refusal to admit that the Eagles’ improved play as of late has anything to do with run-pass balance. Here’s a couple typical Reid quotes.

When asked about sticking to the ground game after a poor start Reid had this to say:

“I wouldn’t say I was beating my head against the wall. I thought we ran the ball pretty good.”

Then he was asked about the desire by fans to see more running plays:

“I think the fans really just want to win,” Reid said. “They don’t really care if we throw it or run it, they just want to see W’s.”

Really, Andy? Have you been living in the Philadelphia area for the last 14 weeks? I think Reid is in denial that his pass-happy philosophy has once again flopped. The scary thing is we all know it could rear its ugly head at anytime. Let’s hope it’s not on Monday night versus Cleveland. The Browns rank 28th in the league against the rush.
