With receiver Hank Baskett sidelined with an MCL sprain and Kevin Curtis gimpy, it looks like outcast Reggie Brown will return on Sunday. HOOORAYYYY!!! What… not that excited? He’s started only one game in 2008 and has only 13 grabs for 192 yards and one touchdown. What the hell happened to this guy? I remember watching him at Georgia and really thought he would develop into a marginal #1 wide receiver for the Eagles. Just hasn’t happened.
He seems to have all the tools: good size, smooth route runner, decent speed. Although, suspect hands, an unwillingness to make the tough catch, and nagging injuries all contributed to his disappearance. He and McNabb have never really seemed to be on the same page. I distinctly recall more than a few games in the last three years when Donovan would hold the ball rather than throw in Reggie’s direction. If you lose your quarterback’s confidence, you are doomed in the NFL.
Reggie has always been a mystery. He flashes moments of brilliance, then does nothing for a month. Well, barring a minor miracle, it appears Reggie will not only be active on Sunday, he could even get the start. Let’s hope he has spent the last few weeks getting himself motivated to play, because the Birds are going to need him on Sunday.

With Curtis and Baskett out I really hope the Eagles stay with the run. Although Baskett maybe doesn’t make too many catches his 6’4″ 220 lb frame comes in handy chipping defenders.
I think the biggest problem with Brown is he drops the ball too much. Dropped passes kill drives, and I think that is why he got benched in the first place.
It did not help him that Curtis came back, and Jackson has been so impressive.
I think his bad attitude could have the Eagles dump him in the off season. Right now I want to see the Eagles in the playoffs so go downtown Reggie Brown!
I’m with you Ian. Drops are killers. With Curtis and Baskett out, I hope Reggie picks up the slack.
Maybe you guys are right. If Brown can have a good game that may the difference. I really doubt the ‘Skins have spent too much time game-planning for him.
Well Dallas lost… thats good news for us though it doesn’t change a thing. Gotta beat the ‘Skins… As for the Cowboys, I am admittedly superstitious about playing a team that just lost… I don’t… a loss seems more motivating for the next week than a win.
Gotta have faith in the Birds.
Freak I actually thought the best scenario for the Eagles would be for both Tampa and Atlanta to lose, and Dallas to win. That scenario would have clinched them a playoff spot, and they would have nothing to play for next week. Now they are in the same boat as the Eagles and next weeks game means everything to them.
It will be awesome to end their season though.
I’m sure you’re right Ian as I can never get this stuff straight.
It’s like algebra to me…
