Around the Horn: Eagles vs Cardinals

AUTHOR: Scott Tunstall | IN: Eagles | COMMENTS: 4 Comments |

The anticipation for Sunday’s game is building. Here’s a mish-mash of things from around the net.

Donovan McNabb paid a little visit to Yardbarker yesterday: Here’s what he had to say to the fans.

I posted a link to a song last week called Eagles Game Face ‘08: Well, the guys made a kick-ass video to go along with the song. Here’s the link.

A great article by Bob Brookover from the Inquirer about Brian Westbrook and the Eagles’ running game.

A comprehensive breakdown on Sunday’s game by Steve Wyche over at NFL.com.

From the Arizona Republic, an article on Jim Johnson’s exotic blitz schemes.

  1. Scott Allen says:

I remember when Jim Johnson was here in Arizona as the D-Line coach.  I worked for the Cardinals when he was one of the coaches.  Nice guy, great coach, great defenses.

  2. Freak says:

He definitely is all that Scott.  I don’t know how the Eagles have been able to hold on to him as long as they have.  He probably should have had a shot at a head coaching job somewhere.

Is there something in his contract?

  3. Scott says:

I have always been a Jim Johnson fan, from back in his days with the Colts. Great defensive mind. There’s nothing in his contract. He just prefers being a coordinator. I don’t blame him. He takes less heat than Reid, that’s for sure.

Look at the success Johnson’s former assistants are having: Leslie Frazier (Vikings), Steve Spags (Giants), Ron Rivera (Chargers) and John Harbaugh. One is a head coach and the other three are leading candidates. Amazing!

  4. Freak says:

Well isn’t that lucky for us?  Despite a hiccup or two, JJ’s defenses have been the most consistent hallmark of Reid’s tenure.  Well one could make that argument at least.
