Here’s a scenario a fellow Eagle fan and I were kicking around the other day: What if the Birds signed free-agent fullback Leonard Weaver? Not only can he be a lead blocker, but he’s also a very effective short yardage back and an excellent receiver. This would solve two huge areas of need. Weaver is a serviceable fullback and the big back that is very much needed.
Weaver would come at a relatively cheap price, as opposed to someone like Larry Johnson. Weaver is also a west coast system guy, which would ease his transition. His value as a multi-tool back has to be intriguing to Andy Reid. We all know Andy likes players who can be used in different offensive packages. I’m not crazy about his blocking skills, but he can’t be any worse than Klecko or Eckel. What do you guys think?
Sorry, there are no polls available at the moment.
