I’m sure you’ve all heard about or read Michael Smith’s ESPN article about the super-secret meeting between Eagles‘ brass and Donovan McNabb. According to Smith, this alleged meeting of the minds occurred last week. The rumors are Don gave management an ultimatum: get me help or get rid of me.
If Don said that, I don’t blame him. Has any other legit starting QB in the NFL had less to work with in the last ten years? Of course, Andy Reid claimed over the weekend that no such sitdown had taken place. As usual, no one knows a damn thing. McNabb’s agent, Fletcher Smith, isn’t talking and neither is Joe Banner.
I just shake my head at this crap. I’m tired of hearing about it and to be honest just don’t care about a covert rendezvous that may or may not have happened. McNabb will be an Eagle in 2009. Beyond that, who the hell knows. If you’re interested, here’s two takes on the McNabb vs Front Office soap opera.
Les Bowen is concerned the situation won’t end well.
John Gonzalez applauds McNabb for speaking his mind.
