Jets Release Laveranues Coles

According to the fellas at Pro Football Weekly, the Jets have parted ways with Laveranues Coles. Embroiled in a lengthy contract dispute the two sides could not reach an agreement. Coles wants to get paid. He’s 31 years old. Since he’s a wide receiver the rumors he’s heading to Philly have already begun. What do you guys think about Coles?

    I like Coles.  He’s been effective and durable his entire career.  But I’m not sure if he’s a good fit for the Birds.  His age means he isn’t going to be getting any better — really, he should only get worse. 

    He’s not a big guy and thus not a big red zone target, either.

    I think Coles is basically Kevin Curtis. Don’t need another one of those guys.
