Sean Jones to Visit Eagles

Posted by: Scott Tunstall

Free agent strong safety Sean Jones will be in town Friday to visit the Eagles. After flirting with Shawn Springs, the Birds will take a look at the ex-Brown to see  if he fits into their immediate plans.

Now, Jones is a legit strong safety, which leads me to believe Quintin Mikell would slide to free safety. I like this scenario better than Sheldon shifting from cornerback. Mikell played a lot of center field last season anyway.

I like Jones as a player. At 6′1″, 225 he would bring needed size to a smallish secondary. Stay tuned for more.

I think it would be a good move to land Jones and slide Mikell to FS.  Surrounded by a much better secondary Jones can be agressive and make plays.  He is coming off an injury so I’m sure they are going to give him a thorough look.  We will know more tomorrow afternoon, but I think it would be a nice move if they sign him.

Agreed. Much better than Springs or any of the other safeties floating around. Hoepfully, the FO gets this done before the weekend.

This would be a good move.  Jones has made a good amount of  interceptions, and he is very physical in supporting the run.

sean jones has better numbers than both ed reed and troy palumalu the past 3 years not counting 2009 in which he missed 4 games for minor surgery….he also got snubbed on the pro bowl for the ‘06 season. top 3 safety potential…lets git him
