According to philadelphiaeagles.com, free-agent safety Sean Jones has inked a one-year contract with the Eagles. Jones will help fill the void left by the departures of Brian Dawkins and Sean Considine.
Jones would likely compete at strong safety with Quintin Mikell shifting to free safety. However, he could backup at both spots if Quintin Demps earns the starting free safety job.
A three-year starter for the Browns, Jones, who is 27, has recorded 14 picks in the last three seasons. The fact that the Eagles didn’t give him a long-term deal leads me to believe they weren’t that impressed with him, but he does fill a need.
I like the move. What do you guys think?
