I'm not sold on Weaver completely. Actually, he's an average blocker on a good day, which is why he hasn't been getting a lot of attention. Also, his asking price is way too high. Some of the info about him and the Eagles is agent posturing. He's trying to manufacture a bidding war. He may sign with the Birds, but don't bet on it.

This would be a solid move by the Eagles if they are able to finalize the deal. Weaver is a very good, young FB. However, the idea that he is a protypical FB is not quite accurate. He is a converted TE that is still learning the art of playing FB. Weaver blossomed in the role last season and is certainly a far cry from Dan Klecko. His best attribute is his pass-catching ability out of the backfiled. He is a decent blocker, but he is not a crushing lead blocker like some want to beleive. Don't get me wrong, he is a solid lead blocker, but still needs some time to develop into the role. Overall, this would be a very good pickup and would fill a position of need.
