Worst Eagles Draft Picks Ever!

AUTHOR: | IN: Draft | COMMENTS: 5 Comments |

We’re holding a pretty cool contest across the FanSided network. In the tradition of the impending NCAA Basketball Tournament we will be holding a 64-man Worst Man Drafted elimination bracket. Each team will contribute their two worst draft picks ever, or as far back as we all can remember. I go back to the early ’80s, so I think I’ve compiled a credible list of flops and failures.

I need the fans help on this one. Who do you guys think are the 2 worst Eagles draft picks? Again, please select two.

Sorry, there are no polls available at the moment.

Great memory Jason!! That was classic. The Ray Rhodes era produced some real clowns.

I still remember the Harris pick b/c he was actually sleeping when they called him to tell him he was being drafted since he thought there was no way he was gonna go in day 1.

Mamula was drafted #7 overall. He NEVER lived up to expectations. He is a prime example of what happens when you take too much stock in the Combine, and not the game tape. He belongs on this list, although I didn't vote for him.

As for FredEx and Pinkston. They both blew. Mitchell was picked ahead of Reggie Wayne!! All he did was catch the 4th and 26. Pinkston was the #36 overall pick. Almost every other team rated him as a 4th or 5th rounder. A really dumb pick.

some of the choices here, i think are provided due to hype and media distortion.  fredx made some huge plays when he was given the opportunity, but was blacklisted.  "stinkston" was a deep threat, and i remember him catching some serious bombs.  of course someone as brittle as todd didn't belong going across the middle, but that was just another example of andy reid not putting his players in a position to make plays.

Quiet as kept, Mamula really wasn't that bad. He wasn't good, but he at least developed into a regular starter before injuries ended his career, which is more than you can say for the rest of these stiffs.

Antone Davis is the easy first choice because the price was so high. I'm tempted to say Williams (put the bong down, Bernie), but I'll go with Harris. Nobody, including him, expected him to go at 15 and the Eagles had to trade up for to acquire his stunning lack of production.
