My computer crashed just as I saw this. I don’t know if that’s a good omen or not, but the Eagles have agreed to terms with fullback Leonard Weaver on a one-year contract. Weaver will fill a couple needs on this team. He’s a big short-yardage back who can catch and hopefully will provide a solid lead blocker in the run game.
I like the move mostly because he gives the Birds another option on offense. This guy can definitely take a screen pass to the house. His blocking is suspect, which is why he didn’t get a lot of attention in free-agency, but I think he’ll be a nice addition. A tight end in college, my suspicion is Weaver will play more an H-Back role with the Eagles. Here’s a clip of Leonard:
