Jennings is becoming the trendy pick of the 2009 running back class. He brings excellent size and strength and fits the “big back” mold to a tee. Originally signed on at Pitt and lead the Panthers in rushing as a true freshman. Transferred to Liberty for family reasons and dominated the Big South Conference for the next three years. Is fast for his size. Very effective in short-yardage and goal line situations. Nice open field change of direction skills. Has good hands, but is not considered a home run type threat.
Best attribute: Athletic power back who finds the end zone.
Weakness: Lacks quick feet and struggles holding onto the ball.
Reminds me of: Ronnie Brown. A versatile back, but not very explosive.
Why he should be an Eagle: His punishing, inside running style would be a welcome addition to the rush game. Could pay big dividends in the red zone. The Eagles need another runner and Jennings would not cost them a first-round pick. Will he be available at #53? The Birds have shown interest in him.
