Eagles Minicamp Ramblings and Praise from Peter King

Ray Didinger from CSNPhilly.com reviews the Eagles first minicamp:

One interesting quote from Reid regarding DeSean Jackson:

“He’s playing faster. He knows what he’s doing. I’m comparing it to when he came to this camp the first time. It was all new to him, so he wasn’t moving quite as confidently or as fast as he is now.”

Faster? Better? Look out NFL. DJax is ready to take flight!

Do yourself a favor and read Peter King’s latest on the Birds’ draft weekend wizardry. Of all the post-draft praise given Reid and Co., this is without a doubt the most thorough and most complimentary. You’ll have to wade through some Favre to the Vikings crap, but it’s worth it. Here’s a snippet:

“This may come out the wrong way, so bear with me. But if I were a football fan looking for a team to root for, I’d pick the Eagles, and what they did on draft weekend is a big reason. The Eagles think. They don’t do things the way they’ve always been done because that’s the way they’ve always been done. For all the frustrations they’ve given their fans because they haven’t won a championship in the 10-year Andy Reid Era, they’ve done what, as a fan, I’d like my team to do: They give their fans a chance every July at camp time to think they’re going to make the playoffs and have a chance to contend for the Super Bowl.”

One small note: King had the Iggles drafting running back Javarris Williams. Obviously, they didn’t. The Chiefs took him in the seventh round. At any rate, the article is a great read, and I don’t even like Peter King.
