Great read. I though the part where Bob states that “Journalism, and life, are about true human connections. We lose that, we lose the essence of what it means to truly communicate.” I thought journalism was the unbiased presentation of facts and events. And I can't remember that last time I was able to converse or communicate with a TV anchor or columnist. I agree that there is a lot of trash blogging going on out there, but you do come across some poignant and well written material as well. THe fact that the public has now been empowered to share theses skills with others threatens all those years of schooling and schlepping for jobs that true professional journalists have endured, and they feel that their trade is cheapened by those who take the "easy route". Granted, that easy route is our freedom of speech, and it seems as if the media is just recently coming to grips with the fact that we the public can indeed think for ourselves. We don't need them to tell us what to think or how to feel, much as they still try.

I think Jeanne said it perfectly. Kravitz went about it all wrong, he must not be paying attention.
