A Giant Goes Under the Knife

Posted by: Scott Tunstall

While doing my daily scan across the Interwebs, I stumbled upon this little item on PFW. Giants newly acquired linebacker Michael Boley just underwent hip surgery and will be out 8-10 weeks.

What’s the deal with all these surgeries anyway? Westbrook, that soon-to-be quarterback for the Vikings, now Boley. I realize guys can’t schedule when they get hurt, but it seems like a lot of players are getting cut open in the last couple months.

Boley is expected to be recovered before the season opener, but he will miss valuable training camp reps. Not good for someone attempting to learn a new defense. Something to keep an eye on once August rolls around.

Eight weeks knocks him out of all of training camp. Ten weeks costs him at least one game. My heart bleeds.
