Dumps and Disses: Starring Chris Cooley, Tony Romo and Pete Prisco

Posted by: Scott Tunstall

Big Monday for NFL news. Most of it was of the fluff variety, but bloggers like me love fluff pieces. Research and analysis can get tedious. No such worries today.

Chris Cooley, who I actually like, tried to fill Peter King’s ego-maniacal shoes on MMQB. He did a decent job and managed to take shots at all his NFC East rivals, including our own Donovan McNabb.

“I think athletes are usually terrible writers. ‘Cough! Donovan McNabb!’”

What a card that Chris Cooley is. Next thing you know he’ll be attacking Stew Bradley’s wardrobe. The HORROR!!!

Tony Romo dumped Jessica Simpson. I can’t believe these two kids couldn’t work it out. Who will become the new Mrs. Romo? Inquiring minds want to know. I’m going with Kim Kardashian. Rumor has it she’s looking to trade up. You heard it here first, folks.

Pete Prisco has clearly lost his mind. In his Top 10 cornerback rankings, Asante Samuel is nowhere to be found. I gave Pete a pass for not including Westy in his Top 50 players, but excluding Samuel from a best corners list is ridiculous, especially when Nate Clements, Terence Newman and Leon Hall are included. Leon Hall? He still plays for the Bengals, right? Clements and Newman have always been overrated, in my opinion. Sorry Pete. Your list is a friggin’ joke.
