Per PE.com, the Eagles have officially named Sean McDermott defensive coordinator. The 35-year-old McDermott will be introduced by Andy Reid at a press conference tomorrow at 1pm.
This comes as little surprise considering Jim Johnson’s continuing battle with melanoma. As always, I wish nothing but the best for Johnson. I sincerely hope to see him roaming the sidelines in the future. But for now, the Birds march on with McDermott as their new defensive leader.
Update: According to ESPN’s Chris Mortensen on Twitter (@mortreport), McDermott has signed a two-year deal.
