Eagles Owner Jeff Lurie Hates Michael Vick

by Eagles

The introduction press conference starring Andy Reid, Tony Dungy and Michael Vick was less than spectacular. The “second chances” card was tossed out at every occasion. Vick declared himself a changed man, wants to be part of the solution, is starting anew, feels the need to be an ambassador and realizes his actions will speak louder. In other words, he put on his best mask of contrition and seemed apologetic, on the surface anyway. I’m certain two years in Leavenworth will cause a person to reevaluate their life choices.

The real excitement kicked off when Jeff Lurie took the podium, alone. Vick had been shuffled off the stage to a secure location in the bowels of NovaCare to hang with Dick Cheney, Andy Kaufman, Tupac and Al Capone. After listening to Jeff expound his disgust with Vick’s deplorable actions, it seems obvious that Gold Standard Lurie isn’t ready to sit next to Vick.

Words like “counterintuitive” and “inexcusable” and “murderous” flowed freely from a visibly shaken Lurie. If his intent was to sell the media, fans and the public on the move, he failed miserably. The majority of his speech served to castigate Vick’s foul treatment of animals and reprehensible behavior as a human being. It played as an apology rather than an explanation.

Lurie had several lengthy sit-downs with Vick, which we are led to believe softened his stance. I’m not buying it. It sounds like Lurie still isn’t convinced the decision was the right one. He repeatedly said it’s difficult to “evaluate remorse.” And yet, he signed off on the deal, due in large part, to the words of Reid, Dungy, Goodell and McNabb. Not Vick.

Lurie made his fortune in Hollywood, so let’s cut to the chase. Michael Vick in an Eagle for one reason: To help the franchise capture the elusive Lombardi Trophy. Forget about all the second chances Mumbo Jumbo; that’s secondary to Vick’s on the field potential. Problems like Pacman Jones, Lawrence Phillips, Chris Henry and Michael Vick are given multiple opportunities because winning is the only thing that matters. Talent wins championships, not charity work. Sub 4.3 40-times win championships, not partnerships with the Humane Society.

Do I believe Michael Vick is remorseful? Yeah, I kinda do. Do I believe Jeff Lurie wants him wearing midnight green? No, not for a second.

When other “class”teams, (like the steelers and san fran), said “NO “TO THE LIKES OF A VICK: phila., scraped up this human trash and stuffed his pockets. SHAME ON PHILA. SHAME ON LURIE. There is no excuse for a sociopathic, narcissistic cretin like vick to be empowered with millions..He should be cleaning up feces in the local shelter(forget that, I don’t want him near innocent creatures.) Hey jeff, do you know what the fate of those dogs was after one loss? Vick has had six! Cut the PR crap, and realize you made a deal with satan, and now your franchise will burn!

he is the leader of this organization; he is the deciding factor. Lots of talent out there. why did he have to lower the standards to the gutter that vick crawled out of? by the way, how does six losses sound for your dream team?

Hey Jeff..What were you thinking signing this loser to begin with..Not only is he a loser, he’s a convicted criminal who killed and tortured dogs..Do you really want to win that badly??Guess so, you get what you deserve signing this evil loser..what a waste of your money..!!

  5. MichaelAnthony says:

Are you nuts, Vick has always been a loser.. always known to blow leads and games in the 4th quarter, full of natural talent, but never the less a loser!

  6. MichaelAnthony says:

Yeah now @ 3-6, I think the Eagles are holding up real well..hahaha!

jeff: we know the game is about winning($$$), not about ethics; but seriously, vick? Look at the historically great qbs(montana, favre, unitas, namath etc.), they have one thing in common THEY WIN because they utilize their teammate’s talents and make a winning effort. Vick had six out of seven losing seasons in atlanta. Was it because he lacked athleticism? Of course not. He lacks a sense of working with others , He is a narcissist, He wants the fame, the glory, and of course the big bucks. He is a midget, intellectually, and any defense that can read him, can get to him. If he gets hit a couple of times, he shuts down, complains and just quits. The great ones don’t quit. Vick is a coward on and off the field. You choice to associate with this mental midget, having lowered yourself and your city to his guttural level. PS when your disappointing season is over, watch for vick to do what he does best. Once your pr people and his paid babysitters lengthen his leash(bad choice of words), vick will fuck up, royally. maybe a thug infested brawl leading to a shooting, maybe a drug connected association. I don’t believe that even vick is stupid enough to kill more dogs, but maybe betting on them? Whatever, his lack of discipline, and just being stupid will be his final downfall. Just sitting back and waiting for the inevitable. you have aligned yourself with the devil.
