Shawn Andrews Needs A Reality Show

AUTHOR: Scott Tunstall | IN: Eagles | COMMENTS: 2 Comments |

If glory hounds like Shaq and T.O. can land a reality TV show, I propose Shawn Andrews be next in line. Since he decided to end his media silence (thank you Shawn!) a couple weeks ago, we the fans have been treated to some incredibly entertaining interviews.

Today, the Big Kid appeared in high spirits. He spoke (via PE.com) about his recent back examination, a lifelong love for music, the perceived lack of dedication and reaching a “zenith.” Here are some highlights (forgive me for paraphrasing).

Shawn on whether or not he really needs to practice:

“I’d be pissed off if I felt someone was cheating the team by not being out there…”

Shawn on other lineman who miss training camp/preseason:

“I’m not Walter Jones…”

Shawn on how ready he is to take the field (he was dancing):

“Can you feel how excited I am? I know you’re not touching me, but can you feel it?”

Shawn on the identity of those critics who bash him:

“”People who sit at home on their computers picking on people…”

Shawn on his current state of mind:

“I’m at the zenith of my happiness…”

This is great stuff. Hey, I’m one of those guys sitting at home picking on him. Why? Boredom. To be honest, I’m pulling for Shawn to get it together. He’s an immensely talented player who can really help this Eagles team win. I realize back problems don’t just suddenly disappear. The dude weighs 350 lbs, so it will take more than a couple aspirin and some deep knee bends to correct it.

At any rate, I’m placing calls to VH1 and the E! Network. I’ve got their next reality star. His name is Shawn Andrews.

This dude needs to shut up and focus on getting back on the field. I don’t think anyone in this city is happy with him right now. He’s got a lot to prove this year.
