I Guess Lorenzo Booker Sucks More Than Tony Hunt

Posted by: Scott Tunstall

I’ve always been amused by players and their numbers. Some are very superstitious when it comes to the sewn digits that reside on the fronts and backs of their jerseys; so much so that they will pay a teammate cold hard cash to land the number they hold nearest and dearest.

Other players could care less. They see it as just a number and nothing more. Shady McCoy is not one of those guys. A couple days after switching from #29 to #25, McCoy has reverted back to the #29. Strange.

I suspect the curse of Lorenzo Booker scared the @#$% out of Shady. The stench of failure must have been potent. Rather than risk any of LoBo’s stink rubbing off, LeSean elected to stick with the number he was given after being drafted. Makes sense. After all, he tore it up during training camp wearing #29, so why test fate?

Booker might have tainted #25 from now until the end of time. If I were the Eagles, I’d box the damn thing and stow it in the same warehouse housing the Ark of the Covenant. If not, there is an excellent chance the specter of Booker will haunt the halls of NovaCare for years to come.

I would assume it has to do with jersey sales. Although weirder things have happened.

I enjoyed the whole article, but loved the last paragraph.

    Thanks!

Now c’mon, are we forgetting the birds have a hall of famer named Tommy McDonald who wore number 25? In two years we won’t even remember LoBo, he was a waste of time. But I believe Shady McCoy would be a great suitor to bring glory back to #25, it’s too bad he had to go back to the likes of Tony Hunt and Rod Hood. Although I guess Hood was ok.

Why the hell did they let anyone wear #25 in the first place, let alone someone as awful as Booker? Alas, I fear LoBo has ruined the number for all future Birds.

Heres lobo reaction after drafting shady…

“For me to start sweating, you’ve got to take my job,” Booker said. “Come take my job. If you can take it, then take it. We’ll see. That’s what the whole point of camp and all that is.”

Thanks for the quote, John. I remember laughing out loud when I read it the first time.

Booker will make a comeback and haunt the Eagles in the future. Eagles and Reid suck anyway.

  8. 8. Scott Tunstall Says:

Booker… a comeback! Now that’s funny. You should do stand-up my man. BAWWAHHHHHHH!!!!!

  9. 9. Tracer Bullet Says:

A “comeback” implies Booker is a has-been. In fact, he is a “never was.” You have to have come before you can comeback (Ewwww).

  10. 10. Block Says:

Lookout!!!! Booker is on his way back with the Texans. Eagles will never win the big one.

  11. 11. Matt Says:

Someone revived an old post to tell us that Booker’s gonna be behind Chris Brown and Steve Slaton on the Texans depth chart!

Also. I don’t think he actually did sign with the Texans.

I’m pretty sure his only recent signing is with the Tuskers.

You know. The Florida UFL team. …he already decided it wasn’t going to work out, and opted to take his walking papers. Lookout!!!

  12. 12. Block Says:

I told you guys…they should have kept Booker. He wasn’t given a chance. They could have used him today. Westbrook is washed up and McMcoy sucks. Raiders 13 Eagles 9…ha ha. Reid and the Eagles are terrible. Look out!!!! Here come the Redskins.
