Quintin Demps Isn’t A Complete Waste
Jeff McClane caught up with the Eagles new staring free safety today. Young Macho declared himself ready to go for Sunday. Here’s what he had to say about making the switch to free safety:
“When I came out of college I didn’t know anything about free safety,” Harris said. “I didn’t know my alignments. I felt like I was covering grass rather than being around making plays. But now that I’ve been hip to it, coaches coaching me up, guys like Quintin Mikell — even Quintin Demps, he helped me out a lot, too. I’ve got a bunch great guys around me around me helping me with the transition.”
“Even Quintin Demps.” Hilarious. Macho didn’t want to slight Demps, so he added him to the list of guys who helped him out. What he neglected to mention was that Demps showed him how not to play the position, which was extremely beneficial.
Clearly, Macho figured out early in camp that running around like a spaz and missing routine tackles was not the ideal way to impress the coaches.

In other news, Joe Mays has come down with a mysterious case of sprained shoulder. He will miss Sunday’s game. From first-string to DNP list in a short two weeks. Together, Mays and Demps are doing their very best to lower the grade for the 2008 draft class.
