I’m starting a new feature this week at ITI. After every Eagles game – win or lose – I’m going to award the Cheesesteak of the Week to the player/players who I believe stood out the most.
There were plenty of worthy candidates from the win versus the Panthers, but I went with a couple guys from the secondary:
Sheldon Brown and Asante Samuel

The dynamic duo played a delicious brand of football on Sunday. They limited Steve Smith to three catches for 21 yards and kept him out of the end zone. Overall, Brown and Samuel combined for three interceptions and four passes defended.
I guess Brown really wants to get paid, because interceptions will definitely get you noticed. He’s one of the best technique cover corners in the league, but the reason why Samuel got a giant contract is his knack for creating turnovers in big games.
Unlike Lito Sheppard, Sheldon is taking out his frustrations on opponents, rather than his own team. What a novel concept.
