As we draw closer to Sunday’s all important face off with the Chiefs, I am mulling over questions in my head. I’m tired of debating them with myself, so I thought I’d share, in hopes of gaining new insight and perspective.
- It’s week 3 and McNabb, Westbrook and DeSean are dinged. I gotta believe all these injuries will balance out at some point. Better to have them now than later. Right?
- I wonder how many different O-line combinations we’ll see this season. How much will Stacy Andrews see the field the rest of the way? When Herremans returns, I wouldn’t be shocked to see Nick Cole slide to right guard.
- So Shawn Andrews is in L.A. rehabbing. I guess the clinic in Siberia was booked. I get the impression Reid doesn’t want the Big Kid anywhere near Philly for the foreseeable future.
- How long before Shady assumes the bulk of the running back duties? I have a feeling by mid-season he will be the best Eagle runner (if he isn’t already).
- Which of the next three opponents will the Birds flop against? Despite their recent pre-bye stumbles, I think they win this week, and they’re usually excellent after a bye, which leaves October 18th at the Raiders as the prime candidate. I doubt I’m alone in thinking that 4-1 seems too good to be true. Especially the way this team’s luck is going.
- If we thought we saw the “Wildwhatever” formation a lot last week, I’d be willing to bet we’ll see it a bunch more on Sunday. You know, with that Vick guy being available and all.
- Has Kevin Curtis become the new LJ Smith? Reid says he’s fine, but the dude is clearly laboring and isn’t contributing. I’d be surprised if he’s not shown the door this offseason. Particularly if there isn’t a salary cap in ‘10.
- I realize it’s WAAAAAYYYYYYY too early, but I think Akeem Jordan could push for the Pro Bowl this year. He has been a beast thus far.
- I neglected to mention this in the aftermath of Sunday’s debacle, but Sheldon Brown’s sneak preview of his Halloween costume struck me as a bit silly. You’re the faceless one. We get it, Sheldon. We get it…
I spent last night reviewing Chiefs game footage. I’ll be back later today (hopefully) with my findings. If any of you think they don’t pose a threat, you’re in for a rude awakening.

That, or his doctor is in L.A. But, you know, whatevs.
I was slightly surprised Curtis made the roster THIS season, so I certainly don’t see him sticking around next year. Darren Howard might want to avoid buying green bananas too if Babin can get pressure from DT.
Babin has to see the field first. Did he get any reps on Sunday? If he did, I missed him.
With Curtis and Jackson both hobbled, don’t you think they will have to activate Reggie on Sunday? It’s now or never, I imagine.
