Stat Diving

You can always tell which team sucks and which one doesn’t when you check the numbers. Here are a few Eagles-Raiders stats I found intriguing. Keep in mind the Birds have played one less game.

- The Raiders have amassed 54 first downs. The Eagles have 77.

- The Raiders have accumulated 958 total yards. The Eagles have 1475.

- The Raiders have run 264 offensive plays and averaged 3.6 yards per play. The Eagles have run 249 plays and averaged 5.9 yards per play.

- The Raiders are allowing 7.9 yards per pass play. The Eagles average 7.7 yards per pass play.

- The Raiders have given up 15 sacks. The Eagles have recorded 13 sacks.

- The Raiders have scored 4 touchdowns. The Eagles have scored 15.

- The Raiders are scoring 9.8 points per game. The Eagles are scoring 31.8 points per game.

Even if you knew nary a thing about football, you could easily discern which team is 1-4 and which is 3-1. Enjoy these glaring differences while they last. Come November, the opponents will be much stronger.
