Eagles-Redskins Prediction
Due to last week’s calamity in Oakland, I have no idea what to expect from our beloved Eagles tonight. They could blow out the Skins, or do another face-plant on national television.
This Birds have mounting issues on both sides of the ball. Is McNabb in his annual funk? Can he hit a wide-open receiver even when he has time to set and throw? Can the offensive line stop playing like the cast of One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest and keep Don’s jersey clean? Is Brian Westbrook ready to reclaim his status as a legit playmaker?
What about the defense? Is Will Witherspoon the answer in the middle, or just one more Band-Aid that won’t stick? Will Asante Samuel decide to tackle something besides air? Can someone other than Trent Cole pressure the quarterback?
Unfortunately, I have zero confidence in this team. When you lose to the Raiders and look awful in the process, you are not deserving of consideration among the league’s elite teams.
Get ready for more ugly football. DeSean and Westy will make a couple big plays. The defense will do enough.
