Cheesesteak of the Week

by Eagles

I’m not sure I can take many more of these barnburners. Fourth quarter comebacks are exciting and good for TV ratings, but I’d be okay with a good ol’ fashioned butt-whoopin’. Much easier on the blood pressure.

Enough of my whining. Let’s hand out a tasty cheesesteak, shall we. I had a tough time narrowing down this week’s winners. Five or six guys were under consideration, but I settled on three. The winners are…

Jason Avant, Shady McCoy and Asante Samuel

It’s official. I have a man-crush on Jason Avant. He makes incredible grabs on a weekly basis and if effing fearless. His two catches on the game-tying drive were critical to helping secure the win. If anyone deserves a new contract, it’s Avant.

Shady McCoy is finally starting to get it. Hits the hole fast, trusts his blockers, and knows when to improvise. That run he made for the two-point conversion was amazing. How did he not touch the turf? If he can continue to contribute over 100 total yards every game, the offense will stay balanced.

Asante has a knack for playing big in big games. His two picks led to a crucial six points. He has a realistic shot at the franchise record for interceptions in a season. With 7, he needs four more to tie Bill Bradley with 11.

Great stuff from all three guys. They’ll need to keep playing at a high level if the Eagles are to make some noise down the stretch.
