The quarterback the Eagles will face on Sunday is no stranger to being under enter. Chris Redman has played six NFL seasons and compiled a 4-6 record as a starter. He’s tossed 19 career touchdowns to just 10 interceptions.
His last extended playing time came in 2007 when he started four games and was part of a revolving door in the first season of the post-Vick era. Atlanta was 4-12 that year, but Redman put up some decent numbers, despite losing three of four games.
Here are his stats from ’07:
| Game | Comp/Att | Yards | TD/INT |
| NO | 23/40 | 298 | 2/1 |
| @TB | 4/15 | 34 | 0/2 |
| @ARZ | 28/42 | 315 | 2/1 |
| SEA | 17/27 | 251 | 4/0 |
The Falcons got rushed 37-3 by the Bucs, which might help explain his awful outing. In the other three contests, Redman was solid, throwing eight touchdowns and just two picks.
In relief duty last week, he completed 23/41 for 243 with a pair of scores. Not too shabby. On a bright note, he was sacked five times.
It’s a big game for the dirty birds and they’ll have a rambunctious crowd supporting them. Normally, the Eagles defense feasts in situations like these, but mounting injuries will make the job more difficult. Don’t expect Redman to face-plant on the Georgia Dome turf. The kid is a gamer.
I’m sensing one of them back-and-forth shootouts.
