Could the Eagles be in the market for some help at linebacker when the free agency clock strikes midnight? Inquiring minds want to know. I say they should be after witnessing the 2009 revolving door that occurred after Stewart Bradley went down.
What about someone like Scott Fujita from the world champion Saints? At 6-5, 250 he’d be an ideal fit at the SAM backer. Gocong is a goner for sure and Moise Fokou is an unknown. A solid veteran would at the very least add stability to a position that has been in flux for years.
Scotty boy will be 31 in April, so he ain’t no spring chicken. However, the Birds could probably offer him a two- or three-year deal that wouldn’t break the bank. I’m sure he will want to start wherever he goes which is fine with me. Whatever Reid and Co. decide, relying on Fokou would be a mistake. Insurance is needed. Think of Fujita as State Farm.
