It took the NFL long enough, but the 2010 schedule has finally been unveiled. If it was the league’s intent to own this week’s headlines, mission accomplished. Schedule today, draft on Thursday. It’s all NFL, all the time. For the record, I love it.
Anyway, here’s a looksee at the Eagles week-by-week schedule. Let the Kolb era commence!
Week 1: GREEN BAY – Kolb versus Rodgers. Should be plenty of fireworks.
Week 2: at Detroit – Kolb versus Stafford. Doesn’t get any better than that. Wait, yes it does.
Week 3: at Jacksonville – The Eagles usually suck when they play here. Probably be 102 degrees at kickoff.
Week 4: WASHINGTON – McNabb Bowl Part I.
Week 5: at San Francisco (Sunday night) – Who will be the Niners quarterback?
Week 6: ATLANTA – The Ryan Express comes to Philly.
Week 7: at Tennessee – The site of McNabb’s torn ACL. Who cares, Don is gone. (My mistake, that was at home. Boo me.)
Week 8: BYE – Nice to see this come a little later in the season.
Week 9: INDIANAPOLIS – The extra week of preparation for Peyton won’t matter. He’ll still light ‘em up for 40.
Week 10: at Washington (Monday night) – McNabb Bowl Part II, in primetime. Get your popcorn ready!
Week 11: NY GIANTS (Sunday night) – An NBC tradition.
Week 12: at Chicago – Cutler throws four picks. Book it.
Week 13: HOUSTON (Thursday night on NFL Net) – Andre Johnson vs. DeSean Jackson. Holy shit!
Week 14: at Dallas (Sunday night) – Back-to-back games under the lights.
Week 15: at NY Giants – Prepare for Eli’s sad face.
Week 16: MINNESOTA – Maybe Favre will be retired by now.
Week 17: DALLAS – Wow! Who saw this coming? Uh, everyone.
We got five primetime games: 3 Sunday nighters, 1 Monday nighter and one NFL Net game. Geesh. Look at that brutal stretch in December. Let’s hope defenses haven’t figured out Kolb by then or it could be a long month. A good September start will be crucial.
