Eagles Grab Nate Allen in the Second-Round

Cincinnati Bearcats v University of South Florida Bulls

The Eagles got their safety. He is Nate Allen from South Florida. I liked Morgan Burnett more, but I don’t get paid to analyze players. Allen is an athletic playmaker who was projected to go somewhere in the second-round.

At any rate, the safety picture is getting mighty crowded with Allen, Macho, Marlin and the soon-to-be-cut Quintin Demps. I suppose if Allen picks up the defense quick enough, McDermott could shift either Macho or Marlin back to cornerback.

Up next is the 55th pick. They could really still use a cornerback, but I’m glad they didn’t reach for one, especially since Chris Cook went to the Vikings at 35. Or perhaps Allen can slide to corner. Ya never know.
