OTA Musings

By: Adam MacDonald

There were a couple of Eagles missing from OTAs on Monday. Asante Samuel missed it due to a death in the family. DeSean Jackson was reportedly in Atlanta and LA hanging out with basketball bud Josh Smith. Sounds like fun. I wish I had an NBA star to pal around with rather than attend to my daily job duties.

Joselio Hanson, Geoffrey Pope, Dimitri Patterson, and Macho Harris were all sharing the corner duties while Samuel was out.

Some people are making a very big deal out of Jackson being AWOL. As stated by a fan I was discussing with this earlier in the day: You can’t be AWOL for something that isn’t mandatory. These are voluntary, folks. He’s not going to turn out to be a new T.O. Yes, we know he’s not happy with his contract but he and the Eagles know that it’s going to be hard to get a new contract in place with the circumstances surrounding the league’s CBA. I believe him when he says he’s being patient and think he will be rewarded in time.

In other OTA news, Bradley, Shady, Tupou and Jamaal Jackson did some sprints today after being banged up a bit earlier in the week. Todd Herremans is still out. Scott wrote an article on this earlier regarding his need to see a foot specialist.
