Eagles have signed fourth round draft pick LB Keenan Clayton. He played his college years in Oklahoma. Clayton is a speedy linebacker, but he’s a bit undersized. I really don’t think he’ll be contributing much this year, but his speed could be very useful on special teams and he could fill in as a backup. There are six rookies left from the Eagles 2010 draft class yet to sign.

Some of you might remember Clayton as the guy who got arrested for outstanding traffic violations. With the way NFL players are going these days, I’ll take that over some of the other charges and “allegations” being placed on some guys.

Four of the undrafted rookies have been cut today: RB Keithon Flemming, TE Pat Simonds, QB Joey Elliot and FB Chris Zardas. Nothing surprising.  FS Marlin Jackson was placed on injured reserve as well with a torn Achilles tendon, but this as also no surprise for any Eagles fan.  Rookie Nate Allen will head into spring camp as the first team starter at free safety.

Shady (ankle) returned to practice today after sitting out most of this weeks OTA. Bradley (calf), Mikell (MCL), Cooper (hammy), Herremans (foot),  and Tupou (chest) are all expected to be ready to go when camp begins on the 27th. Jamaal Jackson and  Abiamiri will miss the beginning of of the camp.
