After a very, very slow news week for the Eagles we finally have something to report to you all. Eagles have signed rookie quarterback Mike Kafka and tight end Clay Harbor to 4 year deals.

Kafka was drafted in the 4th round (122nd overall). He’s out of Northwestern. He’s expected to be the 3rd team QB behind Kolb and Vick.  Mike is pretty quick and got a powerful arm, although he is prone to throw interceptions. I see a lot of upside in this guy and thought he was a solid pick in the 4th round. Many people seem to think he was the sleeper QB in this draft, and I have no doubt that this is true. With Vick most likely not going to be around next season, Kafka can get some valuable reps in this season and become a great backup to Kolb in his 2nd season.

Harbor, out of Missouri State, was also picked in the 4th round at 125th overall. He’s coming in to a very stacked position at tight end and has to compete with Celek, Ingraham, and Rucker. This was an odd pick in my books and a pick that many people believe should have been spent on the offensive line. Oh well, a bit late for that now.

This leaves 4 of the 13 draft picks unsigned: Brandon Graham, Nate Allen, Daniel Te’o-Nesheim and Riley Cooper.
